Defining what’s been imprecisely redefined.
Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Maia.
I’m a wife, mother of two, former military spouse, and Navy veteran. I’m also someone who deeply understands both the beauty and stretching that comes with caring for others while trying not to lose yourself in the process.
Or maybe, like me, you already did.
Because of that, there’s a fire lit inside me to cultivate a space for women unlike anywhere else. One that feels safe, warm, steady, and deeply supportive.
Dwelling Place was born from my own journey of learning that wellness is so much more than outward routines. It’s feeling grounded, supported, spiritually connected, and at home within yourself again.
The heart behind Dwelling Place
A grounded wellness space for women seeking mental, emotional, and spiritual wholeness through reflection, faith-filled encouragement, and inside-out care.
I carry a deep belief that wellness was always meant to be more whole than it’s often perceived.
Not just physical.
Not just productive.
Not just outward.
But rooted in the care of the mind, soul, and spirit.
For so long, I believed wellness meant trying harder. Being more disciplined, more consistent, more put together. But beneath the surface, I realized what I was truly craving wasn’t pressure. It was steadiness. Wholeness. A place to return to myself again.
Somewhere along the way, wellness became reduced to routines, productivity, and outward performance.
Structured workout plans. Calorie counting. Drinking a gallon of water a day.
And while nourishing meals and movement are an uncomplicated means to a beautiful end, they were never meant to be the end goal.
True wellness is far more whole than that.
It’s emotional.
Spiritual.
Relational.
Internal.
It’s feeling supported, grounded, connected, and fully present in your own life.
And slowly, through this reflection, faith, honest conversations, and learning to care for my internal world with more gentleness, Dwelling Place began taking shape.
As a once highly ambitious and deeply independent woman now living the beautiful, stretching role of motherhood, I’ve experienced firsthand how easy it is to lose touch with yourself internally while still appearing fully functional.
I know what it feels like to crave intellectual stimulation, emotional steadiness, meaningful connection, spiritual grounding, and true rest, all while trying to care well for everyone around you.
Life has taken me through seasons of transition, striving, loneliness, emotional overwhelm, identity shifts, and learning how to rebuild rhythms of wellness that felt sustainable and life-giving rather than performative.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I realized many women weren’t necessarily lacking information.
They were lacking space.
Space to process.
Space to be supported.
Space to reconnect with themselves honestly and without judgment.
It was in that tension that the heart of this space was born. A grounded space where women can slow down, feel seen, and pursue wellness from the inside out.
There is something sacred about coming together and being seen, known, and supported.
That’s the heart behind this work.
Through reflective coaching, grounded conversation, emotional support, gentle accountability, and a wellness approach shaped deeply by faith, I help women tend to the often-overlooked parts of themselves that quietly shape how they live, connect, think, and feel.
Some sessions may look like reflection.
Some may look like encouragement.
Some may look like practical wellness support or honest accountability.
But all of them are rooted in helping women feel more steady, more clear, and more at home within themselves.
If you’re here, I hope this space feels like a deep exhale.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before being, and feeling, supported.
I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
Wherever you are.

My professional credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, as well as a certification in Wellness Coaching through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
However, I find my lived-in credentials as a Navy veteran, Marine Corps spouse, mom of two, and entrepreneur to be even more qualifying.
I know firsthand how impossible it can feel to get motivated when I’m depleted in every way.

Given the very broad range of what it means to truly be “well,” my approach isn’t one-size-fits-all.
However, the common denominator amongst all sessions will be that you lead, I follow.
I’m not here to define wellness narrowly and squeeze you into a box that doesn’t resonate with you personally.
My philosophy is that total and complete wellness is achieved when your motivation and fulfillment comes intrinsically. Therefore, it will never be my role to tell you how and where that comes from.
I strongly believe in an 80/20 day-to-day, and will encourage you to continue doing anything that works for you. Furthermore, I will simply partner with you on any potential changes you’re curious about making in the areas that don’t feel just right. That’s it! This is a pressure-free space.

While I am a Christian and a wellness coach, I am not credentialed as a “Christian coach” by title.
However, my faith is a foundational part of both my personal and professional life, and it naturally shapes the way I approach care, conversation, and coaching.
If you choose, I am happy to incorporate prayer, biblical encouragement, and spiritual reflection into our time together.
I understand the desire to be supported by someone whose values and worldview feel familiar. As someone who has personally searched for faith-rooted resources in the wellness and mental health space, I deeply understand how meaningful that alignment can be.
However, all are welcome here.
